The CE and UL logo .. what do they mean?
February 19th, 2008 Filed Under Uncategorized
Q: What’s the “CE” logo that I see on a lot of the electronics in my home?
A:“CE” stands for Conformité Européenne (French for “European Conformity”). When you see the CE logo on a product, it means that it’s legal for sale in the European Union. Though similar to the United States’ UL or FCC standards, the EU standards are sometimes different from ours for electronics. By meeting both U.S. and EU standards, manufacturers can ensure that new products are available for sale on both continents.
